HISTORY
Mariners Haven Limited is the genesis company of the MHL Group. The company was established by CL Financial as a port facility in 1999. The CL Financial group is one of the largest conglomerates in the Caribbean region spanning 62 companies in almost all sectors of industry. Since inception, Mariners Haven Limited has come under the guidance of this visionary power.
Just one year after being established, a strategic evolution was planned for the company. The management of CL Financial recognized the opportunities inherent in the industrial marine sector and transformed the business vision for Mariners Haven from basic port facility to a competitive provider of marine services.
Two years on MHL began to offer shore base services and to amass international clients such as Connoco USA, Shell and BHP Billiton. Solid relationships were established with these clients and extended into various service areas with BHP Billiton renting shore based facilities as well as utilizing logistical support services.
As MHL’s success began to grow in the industrial marine sector, a new strategic plan began to take hold whereby the acquisition of top of the line sub-contractors became a key goal. By acquiring these contracting firms, MHL could now offer a fully integrated service in all dry dock and auxiliary work. By 2003, MHL had acquired Taipan Shippping which afforded them the opportunity to offer Tug and Barge Services. As Mariners Haven began to broaden its offerings, CL Financial made the company a direct subsidiary of the HCL Group of Companies.
In 2007, the MHL Group established a joint venture company with the GulfMark Americas Inc. Through the new joint venture company; Delphin Marine Logistics, the MHL group extended its portfolio to include offshore supply services. These services are currently facilitated by one of the most technologically advanced fleet of vessels in the world.
Today, the Mariners Haven Group comprises Mariners Haven Limited, Delphin Marine Logistics, and HCL Marine. The basic port has become an ISPS certified port facility and the industrial marine service offerings are now flanked with offshore support services.

OUR PLACE
Mariners Haven, Delphin Marine Logistics, HCL Marine and Taipan Shipping operate out of a fully equipped waterfront facility situated in a choice location on the Chaguaramas peninsula. This efficient logistics centre consists of an ISPS certified port facility, offices, warehouses, storage facilities, machine shops, repair shops and workshops. Our plant is managed and operated by top professionals in every field of service that we offer.
